I am often asked “how do I know the difference between ego and my intuition?” It’s a great question and the answer is in very subtle differences. Learning the difference between the egoic voice and your higher self is extremely powerful. We have all experienced the difference, but many times in life we react and respond on autopilot instead of being consciously aware of the important cues. For me, the body helps discern the difference. When things or choices feel in alignment with my path, beliefs and truth, I can feel my heart expand, kind of like it sings or dances. When the things or choices are NOT in alignment, I feel a tightening in my tummy…like nervous butterflies…and not the good kind. The body always has a response to our emotional, mental and spiritual states. So get still and tap in there to start.
Here are a few other key ways to recognize your intuition to get you started or continuing deeper on your awakening journey:
- It feels quiet, not loud.
- It is familiar, yet it feels new.
- It feels safe, loving and warm.
- It feels like a pull, not a push.
- It may defy logic, and yet it feels true.
- It isn’t fear, yet it may scare you – like excited anticipation – simply because it is different or unfamiliar…
- It feels simple, even if it is not easy.
- It speaks lovingly, the judgement and criticism is non-existent.
- It reveals your TRUTH not your story.
These are all things we discover and are revealed in our own time, as we are ready. We take time each Wednesday night in our meditation circle to deepen our connection with our intuition. If this is something you’d like to explore further, be sure to drop in and join us!
