Life Isn’t a Competition.

“I recognize that everyone walking the planet has a journey, has a story, has moments of joy and moments of sadness. There are NO exceptions. We all go through the muck of life. Someone else’s muck will look different than mine because we all learn in different ways, at different times, and stages of life.  My muck isn’t any worse than theirs and theirs isn’t any worse than mine.  Life isn’t a competition.”

It’s time to listen.  Listen compassionately to the voices around us.  Listen compassionately the to the voice within.  Each of us have our own story, and comparing ours to the next person’s undermines their journey…it robs them of the validation that they may be seeking.  Internally, it falsely makes us feel better than or less than other’s.  It is important for us to recognize that no one is exempt from going through the muck of life and even though each of our muck looks different it is no less important and no more important than ours.  It just is. My catalyst for healing is going to be different than yours, and yet both are important stepping stones for each to find our well.  This week we are encouraged to honor our muck, and the muck of others.  It’s time to validate those around us, listen compassionately and know that we are all on our own journeys, doing the best we can at any given moment.  It isn’t a competition.
