“You experience fear only when you take your focus off your goals.”
It’s true, isn’t it? When we keep our focus on our goal, making choices and decisions to get us there is easy. If we are wanting to drop a few pounds or are working towards a particular achievement we know how to get results. The trouble comes when we take our focus off of those goals, and let our minds wander to the ‘what ifs’ and the fear of failure. When we worry we attract more worry. When we are afraid of failure, we attract failure. Really, when we are focused upon our goals even when there are blips or bumps in the road we can easily overcome them…we regroup and refocus to keep pushing towards the thing. When we worry, stress or over-think we aren’t focused on the goal but rather on controlling how we get there and how the thing will manifest. Worry and fear are counter-productive. Sometimes, fear can be a catalyst to move us towards the thing, but only if we visit fear briefly and don’t get stuck there. This week we are being reminded to focus on what we do want and NOT on what we don’t want. Know that even if there are bumps along the way we are being prepared for the thing itself…perhaps there are pieces of ourselves we need to conquer or reveal in order for us to fully appreciate the thing. Vision boards, sticky notes, journaling, affirmations and talking about our goals is a good way to keep them foremost in our minds, to stay focused and to keep us moving forward. This week, let’s focus on what we DO want.
