We are a week into the New Year…which means half of us are already giving up on those New Year Resolutions.  Steady now, Beaver Medicine reveals itself to us this week.  What does a Beaver have to do with the New Year? Well, the Beaver is the doer of the animal kingdom.  When Beaver appears in our life, it is an opportunity to put our ideas into action, complete our projects (especially the ones we have neglected) and settle our differences with others.  Beavers build and create beautiful and intricate dams and lodges.  And interestingly enough, when they build their home, they always have several entrances and exits…they leave lots of alternative escape routes. Beaver Medicine teaches us to be industrious in our endeavours and creative in our routes of attaining those goals.  We can have a dream or goal in mind, and then easily limit ourselves to getting there by having expectations as to how it will actually manifest in our lives. It’s important to know that there are many paths to achieving our goals, and our way is allowed to be unique. Beaver Medicine encourages teamwork, honoring the gifts and talents of others, collaborating to work towards harmony and peaceful coexistence with others.  What a beautiful energy to be blessed with this week.  When we find ourselves struggling as we work towards our goals, let’s be reminded of Beaver and be the doer in our own lives.
