Can I Afford the Consequences of My Thinking?

Imagine you are standing in front of two doors and you have a choice. One door leads to a beautiful garden where the sun is shining, the birds are singing and there is a sturdy bench for you to rest and enjoy the peace, tranquility and all that the garden has to offer. The other door leads to a dry and desolate desert. It’s scorching hot, with no breeze or shade to be found anywhere. There is no water, just endless grains of sand that stretch as far as the eye can see. As the heat radiates from the sand it distorts the view. And even thought beauty can be found in the desert, there is nothing comfortable with this particular place. In fact it’s lonely and barren.
Which door would you choose?
When fear, worry or uncertainty get in our way, choosing which door to go through feels complicated. The mind is powerful. What it thinks has a direct relationship with what we feel emotionally and physically. Which begs to question, can we afford the consequences of our thinking?
Our power lies in our choice. Each thought we have is a door of opportunity. Each thought is a gateway to a state of being. Each door is a choice to be in a state of wellness or a state of dis-ease. No matter our choice, there will be consequences that affect all dimensions of our life. This week we are encouraged to monitor our thoughts and take 100% responsibility for the choices we make. In truth, these very choices determine our reality of existence. Each choice determines our destiny.
Choose wisely.
